On Good Friday we remember that Jesus died on a cross in obedience to God’s will, so that we can receive forgiveness of our sins. After His death, Jesus was buried, but Jesus did not stay in the grave. On the third day, He was raised from the dead and today – Easter Sunday, we celebrate that the tomb is empty. Jesus is ALIVE!
As we read our Bibles, there is no greater story of God’s power and love, than the story of Easter!
Read together Matthew 28:1-10
Why did Jesus die on a cross?
What is a tomb?
When the ladies went to Jesus’ tomb, who met them at the entrance?
What message were the ladies told to tell the disciples?
What message do we need to also tell others?
Why is Easter more than chocolate eggs, hot cross buns and Easter bunnies?
God showed his love for us by sending his only son into the world, so that we might have life through him. 1 John 4:9
Jesus Died so that we can be forgiven and it is because of Jesus’ sacrifice, Jesus’ death, and Jesus’ resurrection, that we may have eternal life.
Dear God, thank you that Jesus died in our place and that we can live forever in heaven with you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
